GreenPower Submits Section 36 Application for Griffin Wind Farm

GreenPower, on the 27th April 2004, submitted a Section 36 Application to the Scottish Executive to develop Griffin Wind Farm. If consented it will be one of the largest wind farms in the UK.

 

The project, as submitted, will consist of up to 82 wind turbines, each with a capacity of up to 3MW, with a maximum peak output of 216MW.

 

The wind farm is projected to offset up to 641,000 tonnes of CO2 per year during its operation, and supply electricity equivalent to the annual demand of 141,000 average UK homes.
